Inlaid violin -- Nice, nice nice ---

You hardly ever see a roped-edge violin that actually has all the rope intact. This one is
great. There is inlay on the back in an intricate design, as well as an inlaid tailpiece and fingerboard.
Historical Note: This came in a JW Pepper case, which seems to be its original case. A catalog
from Pepper (Chicago, IL, circa 1900) shows the same design under "Violins - Fancy" and refers to it as a pearl
inlaid back. These originally sold for around $8!
When we set this up, we experimented with strings and found that Dominants really bring out the
sound. This is NOT one of those boxy-sounding inlaid instruments you're used to hearing. This one will be a dream
to play.
